ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the correlation between blood routine test indicators and advanced saphenous vein graft disease (SVGD) in patients with coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). Methods By defining SVGD as an occlusion of 50% or more of the saphenous vein graft (SVG) excluding distal anastomotic occlusion, patients were divided into SVGD group and non-SVGD group, who suffered CABG over 1 year with recurrent angina and underwent coronary angiography (CAG) operation from March 2015 to January 2016 in Tianjin Chest Hospital. Results of blood routine test data were compared between two groups. The multivariable Logistic regression was analyzed for the relationship between blood routine test indicators and advanced SVGD. Results There were 148 patients in the study, 109 patients in SVGD group and 39 patients in non-SVGD group. There were significant differences in level of red blood cell distribution width (RDW:0.123 2 ± 0.008 9 vs. 0.120 2 ± 0.005 2, P0.127 5[OR (95%CI):4.905 (1.058-22.747), P=0.042], NLR>3.34[OR(95%CI):4.013(1.466-10.987), P=0.007]were independent risk factors for advanced SVGD, as well as PCT>0.185 [OR(95%CI):2.636(1.098-6.324), P=0.030]might be risk factor for advanced SVGD. Conclusion RDW>0.127 5, NLR>3.34 could indicate advanced SVGD. We need more samples to support that PCT>0.185 is used to be risk indicators for advanced SVGD.

ABSTRACT

Objective Both QBC Star and Sysmex XP-100 hematology analyzers are convenient to carry, which can be used nor-mally under the condition of the field(emergency). This study would compare their test results and operating performance,so to provide guidance for rational use of the instruments. Methods 100 fresh blood samples of 100 health soldiers anti-coagulated by EDTA-K2 were detected by QBC Star and Sysmex XP-100 haematology analyzers respectively, the results of two analyzers were comparatively analyzed and their test time and operating convenience were analyzed. Results There was no significant difference in the results of hemoglobin concentration (HGB),hematocrit (HCT)tested by the two methods (P >0.05).There were significant difference of the mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (MCHC),the sum of lymphocyte percent and middle type cells (LYM%+MID%),neutrophil percentage(NEUT%),white blood cell count(WBC),platelet count(PLT)tested by the two meth-ods(P <0.05).The values of MCHC and LYM%+MID% tested by the QBC Star were significantly lower than that detected by Sysmex XP-100(P <0.05),while the rest indicators tested by the former were higher than that of the latter. It took about 5 minutes to complete a blood sample analysis with QBC Star, while about 1 min was needed for Sysmex XP-100.Conclusion The test results of QBC Star and Sysmex XP-100 hematology analyzers couldn′t exchanged except for that of HCT and HGB.Under the condition of field(emergency),QBC Star hematology analyzer is suitable for individual medical examination, and Sysmex XP-100 hematology an-alyzer can be used for the batch medical examination.

ABSTRACT

Objective To find out the detection level of the blood routine test in clinical laboratories of basic medical institutions in Hefei ,and to analyze the results of inter‐laboratory comparison among township health centers and community health service cen‐ters in Hefei and explore the main factors .Methods Forty‐three township health centers and community health service centers were randomly selected to conduct field investigations and take blood routine test inter‐laboratory comparison .Results Both 41 .9% of the passing rate and the average score 72 .37 points in Inter‐laboratory comparisons were significantly lower than the An‐hui province clinical inspection center(94 .1% and 95 .97 points) ,the differences were statistically significant(P<0 .05);Comparing to the results of the Anhui province clinical inspection center ,there was statistically significant difference on parameter(WBC ,RBC , Hb ,HCT ,PLT) average pass rate of blood routine test(P<0 .05);the personnel primary education was low ,18 .80% of the staff in clinical laboratories were not professionals ;most of blood analyzers were domestic and 53 .49% of all instruments had been used for more than 5 years;the overall laboratory quality management level was low .Conclusion The blood routine test detection level in clinical laboratories of basic medical institutions in Hefei was far below than that of secondary and tertiary medical institutions .The daily laboratory internal quality control should be strengthened and the quality management system should be improved gradually .

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the change of the peripheral blood cells of soldiers in high altitude hypoxia,to analyze its influ-ence on the blood cells. Methods The blood cell were compared among the soldiers in the plains, entered plateau after 6 months and stationed plateau for a long time, and to analyzed the effect of high altitude hypoxia environment on blood cells. Results WBC, RBC,hemoglobin, hematocrit and mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration were obviously above plain group and long staff group (P 0.05).platelet,mean platelet volume, platelet distribution width was clearly higher than that of plain group (P <0.05 ).Conclusion Blood cells of soldiers training in the high altitude hypoxia environment are significantly increased, and changes in blood cells are closely related to emplacement time and altitude.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value of the common test parameters in acute fever without obvious infection focus and sick appearance in children under 5 years. Methods The hospitalized children with fever duration less than 7 days, anal temperature higher than or equal to 38°C, age younger than or equal to 5 years, and without obvious infection focus and sick appearance were recruited, we investigated the diagnosis value of common test parameters including C-reactive protein (CRP), procalcitonin (PCT), the white blood cell count (WBC), and neutrophil percentage (N%) , according to the ifnal diagnostic. Results Of 228 children, 42 children (18.42%) had serious diseases, the difference of CRP, PCT between serious diseases group and non-serious diseases group were statistically signiifcant (P<0.001). The diagnostic cut-off point of CRP was 67.1 mg/L by speciifcity of 0.810 and sensitivity of 0.715, that of PCT was 0.505 ng/L by speciifcity 0.762 and sensitivity 0.672. The speciifcity and sensitivity combining CRP with PCT was respectively 0.918 and 0.617. Of 228 children, 32 children had viral infections, 40 children had bacterial infections, 15 children had mycoplasma infections. The difference of CRP, PCT, WBC, and N% among three groups were statistically signiifcant (P<0.01).The cut-off point of CRP was 38 mg/L by sensitivity 0.900 and spec-iifcity 0.813, that of PCT was 0.450 ng/L by sensitivity 0.700 and speciifcity 0.812, and the speciifcity and sensitivity combining CRP with PCT was respectively 0.965 and 0.630, to distinguish bacterial infections from viral infections. The diagnostic cut-off point of CRP was 80.75 mg/L by sensitivity 0.700 and speciifcity 0.933 distinguishing bacterial infections from mycoplasma infections. Conclusions The parameters CRP and PCT have the diagnostic value for the children with the acute fever and age younger than or equal to 5 years and without obvious infection focus and sick appearance in etiology and serious diseases, espe-cially the value of combining CRP with PCT is better.
